Fair Trade Vendors (i.e. members of FTF or IFAT) purchase the
products outright, paying half at the time of order and the other half upon
delivery from producers (i.e. Co-ops). This allows the producers to sustain
their lives while they create the products. Fair trade vendors, such as Ten
Thousand Villages, have been providing vital and fair income to the people in
over thirty developing countries by working to form Co-ops to create products
that will sell in these countries, teaching the local artisans business skills
and granting loans to new Co-ops. By working with artisans who would otherwise
be unemployed, under-employed, or unfairly-employed, workers are allowed to
earn income to pay for food, education, healthcare, and housing for themselves
and for their families.
Fair Trade for All is always looking for vendors who are creating new
opportunities made by artisans in unrepresented countries.
The vision for Fair Trade For All is to build solid and long term
partnership with artisans in third world countries, meanwhile contributing to
the development of the local community and bringing life to the uptown part of
the city of Milwaukee.
The Fair Trade For All Products are handcrafted by skilled artisans from over thirty "third world" countries.
